Lighting Enhancement of Yihai Bridge

This project is located in Yihai Park, Guicheng, Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. Yihai Park is a riverside ecological park built along the Foshan Waterway, offering a scenic and tranquil environment that serves as a popular leisure spot for local residents. At the east and west ends of the park, two pedestrian bridges span across the Foshan River, featuring distinctive architectural designs that serve as visual highlights within the park.

To enhance the park’s nighttime visual appeal and to highlight the unique shape of the bridges after dark, the lighting enhancement project for Yihai Bridge was initiated. The original plan involved installing pixel lights along the outer contours of the bridge, controlled via DMX to display dynamic patterns and lighting effects.

However, during detailed discussions with the design team, they expressed a key concern: they did not want visible lighting fixtures disrupting the visual integrity of the bridge during the day. In response, our team proposed a customized solution using flexible LED strips with a PC (polycarbonate) diffuser cover. This flexible strip could be seamlessly embedded into the pre-reserved grooves of the bridge structure, ensuring that the lighting system remained visually hidden during the day while still delivering the pixel-like lighting effects at night.

Once implemented, the project successfully met the original design intent. The lighting brings out the bridge’s architectural features beautifully in the evening while remaining virtually invisible during the day. The client was highly satisfied with the outcome and praised the project team’s professionalism and attention to detail.

The Yihai Bridge lighting enhancement project represents a successful integration of functionality, aesthetics, and environmental sensitivity, offering a valuable reference for future urban bridge lighting designs.
